President and CEO
Weidong is the Founder, President and CEO of Signum Instruments, Inc., and is focused on developing next-generation oilfield service products.
Weidong has over 25 years of product development and project management experience in various industries, with the past 15+ years being dedicated to the oilfield service industry. He joined ThruBit, LLC in 2006 where he was the Director of Engineering and Formation Evaluation. In this role, Weidong was responsible for critical engineering and development projects for downhole applications. He was instrumental in ThruBit’s engineering and product development success.
Before joining ThruBit, Weidong served in a variety of positions with Halliburton, including senior technical advisor and principal project manager. He was responsible for the HTHP array induction tool development project, which was the first one in its class rated 30kpsi and 500F. Weidong also contributed to Numar development. Before joining Halliburton, he worked for several companies in the Northeast / Mid-Atlantic regions, including Mars Electronics and TA Instruments as a development engineer.
Weidong holds a BSEE and MSEE from Southeast University in China and a Ph.D. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University.
Paul is the President and CEO of Foro Energy, a next-generation oilfield technology company that is commercializing high-powered lasers for the oil, natural gas, geothermal and mining industries. He has more than 20 years of experience working in the oilfield service industry in a variety of operational and technical roles both domestic and internationally.
Prior to joining Foro, Paul was the Managing Director of Diamant Drilling Services, a global drilling services company. Before Diamant, Paul was an Executive Vice President of Logan International, an oilfield service and manufacturing company.
Previously, Paul served as President of Flotek Industries where he was responsible for the international business of their three operating segments: Chemicals and Logistics, Drilling Products, and Artificial Lift. Prior to Flotek he was Vice President and CTO of Science Applications International Corporation's (SAIC) Upstream Oil & Gas Commercial Business Services group where he led their Digital Oilfield consulting and systems integration practice. Paul began his career as a field engineer with Schlumberger where he spent 13 years in various management roles including field testing and launching the Combinable Magnetic Resonance Logging Tool, heading Norway operations, and serving as the Global Program Manager of Network & Infrastructure Services. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Colby College.
Michael is a Managing Director at NGP Energy Technology Partners (“NGP ETP”) where he concentrates on efforts in sourcing investments, transaction analysis and execution as well as the monitoring of active portfolio companies. Michael has over 15 years of investment experience and is focused primarily on the oilfield services sector. Prior to joining NGP ETP in 2007, Michael served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Development for Auto-Chlor Services. From 2000 to 2004, Michael worked at Bank of America Securities in the Natural Resources Investment Banking Group in New York and Houston, covering energy technology, oilfield services, and refining and marketing companies.
From 1998 to 2000, Michael worked at Chaffe & Associates in the M&A group, executing transactions primarily in the energy industry. Michael holds an MBA from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, where he was the James T. Murphy fellow, and a BA in Economics from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated summa cum laude. Michael is a board member of Covenant Testing Technologies, Cretic Energy Services, Flogistix, MS Energy Services, Signum Instruments, Spinnaker Oilfield Services, Viking Oil Tools, Wellsite Rental Services and Zahroof Valves; a board observer of TAS Energy; and a former board member of Environmental Drilling Solutions, Managed Pressure Operations and Wellbore Energy Solutions.
Tom is a Senior Associate at NGP Energy Technology Partners ("NGP ETP") where he is responsible for sourcing investments, transaction analysis and execution, and monitoring portfolio companies in the oilfield service and technology sector. Prior to joining NGP ETP in 2011, Tom served as the Senior Analyst for Halliburton Co.’s in-house M&A and Corporate Development group.
While at Halliburton, he worked on a number of strategic acquisitions and transactions across the range of Halliburton’s product and service offerings, as well as corporate strategy projects sponsored by the executive team. Tom graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University with a BSM in Finance and Economics, along with an Energy Specialization from the Tulane Energy Institute. Tom currently serves as a board member of Signum Instruments, Viking Oil Tools, Wellsite Rental Services, and Zahroof Valves.
